Received an ARC and not reviewed it
Well … yes. I got an ARC through NetGalley for a graphic novel and it was in my baby blogger days. I did not realize the book would only be available for a short amount of time and when I wanted to read it I couldn’t download it anymore … That happened with another Graphic Novel, too but that one I actually bought and review (and loved!!)
Have a less than 60% rating on NetGalley
I’m taking this as is … right now? Not ‘not ever’? Sooo, if it only asks about right now: Yes, I’m at 85% right now. I’m sooo proud of this because, again, in my baby blogger days I fell into the NetGalley trap and it took me years to get over 80%. and I’m trying my best to never let it slip below that again. So, no requesting spree’s for me anymore!!
Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)
That is a personal attack on me 😭😂
I think I still have some review from over 2 years ago that says “Review to Come” … Biggest lie ever!
Folded down the page of a book
Never ever! I don’t care what other people do with their books but I would never deliberately fold a corner of a book.
Accidentally spilled on a book
I’m actually not sure if I have or not? I think there might have been a book in my bag that tragic day my iPod died due to my water bottle opening inside my bad … I think there was some book inside. Other than that I spilled water on my test books from school once or twice, soooo …
NAUGHTY, I think.
DNF a book this year
I did, and it was a review copy, too! 😱
But unfortunately, the book really wasn’t for me. I usually never dnf books but I really had to in this case. The writing style just didn’t work at all for me.
Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it
No, I definitely intend to read all the books I buy. It just sometimes takes a bit … just a couple years or so. No big deal ^^
(Books I’ve already read and then buy to own aren’t included in that question since I read the book, just not that edition, right?)
Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)
Is that a rhetorical question? Like … all the time! ^^
Especially when I’m in certain moods. I almost never able to stop listening to an Agatha Christie audiobook, but I’ve had countless others I simply couldn’t put down and that I read without a break until I finished them. And yes, I definitely should have done other stuff during that time.
Skim read a book
No, I’m not really able to skim read. For some reason, it makes me kinda anxious. I’m not really good at dnf’ing either, so I usually just trudge through. But luckily, I’m very good at guessing if I’ll like a book or not, so I don’t have to do it a lot.
Completely missed your Goodreads goal
I had to look at my Goodreads challenges to verify, but no. I’ve always completed them. I started doing them in 2015 and completed every year since. But I usually set my goal as something I’m sure I’ll reach but that’s still in the upper end of that so I challenge myself without stressing myself out over it. And when I’m doing particularly good I update the goal and set it higher.
Borrowed a book and not returned it to the library
No, I don’t really borrow a lot from the library anyways. Our libraries weren’t really that good and since I started reading in English it’s not really an option anymore.
Broke a book buying ban
Ahaha … I don’t know what you’re talking about. Me? Buying books when I’m not supposed to? Never! The ones I bought where all just very necessary in that second! That totally doesn’t count as breaking a book buying ban, does it??
It does? oh … 🥺
Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about
Ahm … yes! I’ve done that a couple times. Usually when I either don’t have a lot to say about a book or the book is sooo good that I feel I can never write a worthy review. But I’m getting a little better at this. because now I take notes, at least some, so I can remember what happened and what I thought about certain moments.
Wrote in a book you were reading
I’ve done this once. I usually wouldn’t even DREAM about doing it (I love when other people do it, though. Makes the books so much more personal and it’s so interesting to read an annotated book! But I don’t feel like I could add anything and I don’t like my handwriting) but this one book was sooooo bad. The first half of it was so trope-y and cliche that it was hilarious. I laughed so many times because of it. The second half was better plotwise, more original but that made me actually enjoy it less, I couldn’t even laugh at it anymore 😩
It was my bff’s fav book for a time though, so I couldn’t talk about it with her (I didn’t want to ruin her enjoyment) and so I had to write my comments in the book. I had to get them out of my system somehow.
Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads
Yep, I have. And I’ll never tell you about the two books (I forgot the name of one of them anyways)
I feel strongly that you shouldn’t feel embarrassed about what you read, ever! … But I am 🙈
Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend
Yes, but listen! It wasn’t my fault!! I swear!
So, I had this friend-ish in school. She was a total social butterfly, meeting everyone and more. I lend her a book (and got it back in a disastrous state but that’s beside the point) and I borrowed two from her. I tried to meet up with her again to give them back multiple times but she either never had time or lost her phone or didn’t answer etc. And after a time I gave up and adopted the books. (And kind of took them as payment for my poor destroyed book)
NAUGHTY. (But again, not my fault, I tried, ok?!)
Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book
All the time! I mean, I’ve told a couple people that I only lend out hardbacks, because I can keep the dustjacket and they are harder to destroy.
I told my mom that, too, that I only lend her hardbacks but she still borrowed a paperback when I wasn’t home and broke the spine 😪
But people I don’t know that well or I know won’t really get it … I just try to change the topic or something like that ^^
Broke the spine of someone else’s book
NEVER! I am really good at reading books and keeping them in perfect condition. And breaking the spine is one thing I hate especially, so I try my absolute hardest not to do that. And so far I’ve always succeeded when it wasn’t my book.
Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged
No, as I’ve said above, I’m always super careful with my books. Especially with the dustjackets. If the hardcover under it gets damaged that’s really unfortunate but I can cover it up with the jacket 🙈
Sat on a book accidentally
No? I don’t think I’ve ever done that?
Soooooo … *drumroll* …
AM I BOOKISHLY NAUGHTY OR NICE?
11 naughty, and 9 nice.
So, it looks like I am BOOKISHLY NAUGHTY!
& everyone else who wants to do it 💛
