I know I am posting this a day late, but I just forgot yesterday. I really like this wednesdays topic though, so I decided to still post it.
Since my birthday is coming up I just recently did write a wishlist, so perfect timing.
For all not knowing what Top 5 Wednesday is, it is a group on goodreads, currently moderated by Sam of thoughts on tomes I think, that posts a topic for a top 5 list each wednesday.
Soo, I decided to cheat a little. Actually I am going to name 10 books rather then 5. I am dividing this topic into two under categories: Books already published and Books I await the release day eagerly (This was probably already a T5W topic, but oh well)
So without further ado, here is my first Top 5 list:
- A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
Since the recent release of the second book A Court of Mist and Fury and all the buzz around this series, I decided that I can’t wait any longer to experience this master piece everyone claims it to be. I can’t wait. Sarah J Maas’ other books are just really awesome, so I hope I’ll like this one just as much.
- A Savage Song by Victoria Schwab
Again, this has a lot of hype surrounding it and I want to see for myself if it is as good as everyone says. Also I’ve never read a book by Victoria (E.) Schwab and that definitely has to change. I own Vicious as an audiobook, but I am most curious about this new one
- Doon by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon
This has actually two reasons. One, it is a time travel novel about Scotland (Hell Yes!) and the second is that I jsut bought the second book in this series but don’t own (or have read) the first one … so that has to change.
- A Note of Madness by Tabitha Suzuma
This book is about a boy who is an incredible talented pianist, but has bi polar disorder. This is about his life in college and preparing an important concert while facing the difficulties that come with his condition. I believe this to be a really intense read. Tabitha Suzuma writes a lot about heavy topics, I’ve read her other novel Forbidden. And I want to experience her writing again.
- Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman
An YA Western? Sounds really good, unique and interesting. And the cover is just stunning. (I know, I know. superficial, but what can I do? I love me some gorgeous covers) Also this got a lot of praise and there may be a readalong, so another reason to get it soon. Those things are jusst so much fun!
So that for my first list. Now the books that aren’t published yet.
- Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas
Yes. Sarah J Maas gets two spots in my lists. She has just that awesome book. I can’t wait for this book to come out! I want more Celeana! I love her just so much. (And no, I haven’t read Heir of Fire or Queen of Shadows yet, but believe me, I will! ASAP.
- The Inkheart Continuation (I don’t think there is a title yet?) by Cornelia Funke
So, Cornelia Funke recently said that she is writing a continuation trilogy. Taking place 5 years after the end of Inkdeath. I am so excited and scared. What if it is bad? But how can it be. I mean Cornelia Funke! There wasn’t one book I disliked from her. But it scares me nonetheless. It could go so wrong, but it also could be so good. So I am more excited than scared. Sorry for rambling…
- Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
Inej, Kaz, Nina and all the others. Do I really have to explain why I need this book? No? No.
- Castle of dreaming books by Walter Moers
I just recently finished City of Dreaming Books and I loved it. Didn’t expect anything else. And I’ll start the second one soon, but I was told that it ends completely in the middle of the story and Walter Moers just said at the end, that the book wasn’t finished, but he had a deadline, so he’ll write the rest as the next book. He is so mean sometimes. But I love his books. His dedications and footnotes and I mean translating from zamonia into german has to be difficult after all 😉
- Wayfarer by Alexandra Bracken
I haven’t read Passenger. But it sits on my shelf waiting for me to pick it up. But I think I will wait for the second one to come out. I can only handle so much and if it ends on a cluffhanger …
